SSRS framework improved by Docentric offers powerful emailing capabilities, integrated in the process of report posting and printing, supporting execution in batch. There are scenarios such as emailing collection letters or return acknowledgments when you don't need to send an email to the customer with the generated SSRS report as an email attachment. Instead, you prefer to send an email with the key report data in the email body directly.

You will still benefit from resolving email tokens, a possibility to use email processing, additional attachments and multiple sender accounts, and all other email improvements brought by Docentric. Emailing reports without an attached report output file is supported from Docentric AX version 3.4.9 by using Docentric Email print destination.

How it works

Let's demonstrate Emailing reports without attached output file on the example of the Collection letter note report. To enable sending emails without attached report, turn on the Email without report option on the Print destination settings form > Docentric Email print destination > Attachment.

Saving to Print archive

Regardless if you email a report with or without report output file attached, you can use the Saving to Print archive functionality just like you used to. In this case, a PDF document based on the selected template is generated and stored in the Print archive to the location configured via Document type for archiving. Learn more about configurable Document types for archiving >>
