DynamicsMinds 2025: Demystifying Electronic Reporting: Some Concepts and Functions You May Not Yet Know, But Should Know

This session is aimed at both those who already have some experience with ER and those who are seriously considering using ER for reporting. We hear everywhere that ER is complex. This is true. That's why it's even more important to learn about it from the right sources. Fernando and Albin have been working with ER for many years and can give a lot of practical advice on the subject.

This is exactly what they will do in this session. They will present solutions for some more complex but practical scenarios, two examples extracted from real customer requirements, that are didactic, and perfect to train data manipulation in ER.

  • Fernando will teach you some magic spells for handling charges on the sales invoice. Charges can be in the header and in the lines. For a proforma sales invoice, the charges are taken from the sales order header and lines. The posted sales invoice reads the charges from the invoice journal and the journal lines. All that needs to be taken into account when preparing the data for printing the invoice.
  • Albin will wave his magic wand over the project invoice data. Project invoice lines can have different origins: Line items, expenses, hours, fees, on-account. They are also saved differently for project invoice proposals (proforma) and posted project invoices. This makes data preparation even more difficult.

This session will introduce some concepts and features of ER configurations that are very useful in complex data scenarios. You will learn some best practices and see how they are applied in real-world scenarios. Whether you like it or not, ER is here to stay, so get to know it better. Albin and Fernando can help you with that!
