Video Empowering Women in Engineering & Promoting Ethical AI: Inženirka leta, DATA_FAIR

At Docentric, we believe technology should be ethical, inclusive, and accessible to all. We actively support initiatives that empower women in technology, promote diversity in STEM, and promote responsible AI development.

At the start of 2025, we proudly supported and participated in two key events: Inženirka leta 2024 (Woman Engineer of the Year, Slovenia) and DATA_FAIR Conference in Ljubljana. Both align with our commitment to building a more inclusive and responsible tech industry.

INŽENIRKA LETA 2024: Encouraging Women in STEM

Inženirka leta celebrates the achievements of women engineers, creating a welcoming space that inspires more women to pursue careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Each year, the initiative recognizes 10 outstanding women engineers and selects one as the Woman Engineer of the Year.

As a Gold Partner of Inženirka leta 2024, Docentric proudly supported the initiative in Slovenia, continuing our involvement from 2023. We believe that diverse teams - where women and men bring to the table different perspectives, ideas, and experiences - lead to better solutions and drive innovation.

Inženirka leta 2024: Rebeka Kropivšek Leskovar

Rebeka Kropivšek Leskovar is a great example of a modern engineer. She takes an ethical approach to technology development, making her a role model for human-centered engineering. She works with machine vision applications, focusing on how technology can improve everyday life and benefit people.

At the Inženirka leta 2024 ceremony, Rebeka stood alongside nine other exceptional women from computer and mechanical engineering to chemistry, physics, microbiology, and more. Their expertise and achievements show that engineering isn’t about gender – it’s about curiosity, passion, and the drive to create positive change.

DATA_FAIR 2025: A safe and inclusive space to rethink what’s happening in the data world—and what bias has to do with it

We were proud to take part in DATA_FAIR 2025, an event that put a spotlight on women that work in data engineering, data science, and AI. The conference gathered Slovenian and international experts to discuss technical advancements, ethical challenges, and the broader impact of AI and data on society.

Docentric Team's Role at DATA_FAIR

Beyond supporting the event as sponsors and attendees, we were honored to moderate the DataFair Café, a roundtable discussion on the ethical, social, and industry-wide challenges in AI and data science. Creating and encouraging these discussions is key to ensuring a responsible and forward-thinking future in tech.

To make the event more interactive, we introduced the AI Thread Board, where attendees could explore AI’s role in everyday life through thought-provoking questions.
