Print the delivery note without printing managin

Hey, I’m back again. I’m using print management to generate packing slips, and right now it’s set up to automatically send the packing slips by email. The thing is, I’d like to generate all the possible files in SharePoint to keep an archive of all the data. But when I try to use the option to print without print management in the packing slips section, it doesn’t show up. Where should I go to trigger the function to print without print management from packing slips?

Hi @Aaron_Mir_Truco ,

If you want to at the same time archive the generated document, you can set up a standard Document type with SharePoint location and use it for archiving in any of the Docentric print destinations. This will save the generated report to Print archive, store it on SharePoint, and print to configured print destination in Print management.

The issue is that we already have a very complex configuration for all documents. To the point that when we trigger print management from delivery notes, all the documents associated with the final customer are also being sent by email.

How could we generate the delivery notes without taking into account the rest of the print management setup? I have tried running them in a sandbox environment we have available, but it returns a 404 error after running for a long time and crashes.

I would need a solution to run this within production without it interfering with the rest of the elements.

Hi @Aaron_Mir_Truco ,

Thank you for clarification.

When printing Delivery notes from CustPackingSlipJournal, the process is driven by Print management (reprint scenario), and the report dialog is not exposed. Because of that, Docentric destinations cannot be changed at runtime, and the system follows the existing Print management setup.

At the moment, there isn’t a standard way to run Delivery notes like a standalone SSRS report and override the destination on the fly. Achieving this would require customization (for example, a custom menu item that calls the report with a dialog).

If my understanding is correct, you would need functionality similar to what is presented in the following blog article:

Print Customer and Project Invoices from Invoice Journals Without Print Management - Docentric AX

Our recent improvements have primarily focused on invoice scenarios, where this type of flexibility is more commonly required. We will share your use case with our Product Management team for consideration, although we cannot guarantee if or when it might be included in the product.

Wishing you a lovely day!
