I tried to add the InventLocationID field to my Sales Invoice template but it returned blank despite it being populated in D365. I tried to update the data source but the field still comes out blank.
Any thoughts on what might be the issue would be appreciated.

Hi Zainab,
Docentric AX intercepts the data from the SSRS pipeline. If you do not see the data, it has not been read for some reason. Maybe there is a setting that prevents this, maybe there is a customization. You can investigate this with a functional consultant and a developer.
You can also run a report and generate a DDSP file. Then check the DDSP file with some text editor, like Notepad or even better Notepad++. You can also load this DDSP fire using Docentric AX Designer in MS Word. The screenshot below shows the SalesInvoice.Report template where the Review sample data button (see #2) has been pressed to show the data for the report. This will open the report data where we can search for values we are interested in.
