Hi Dirk,
You can have multiple default templates, under the condition that they all have the same Template ID, but a unique combination of Company and Language. In your case you only need to Edit the second entries from your Templates list and change their IDs so that it is the same as ID of the already default (SalesInvoice.Report09) template. It is important that the Template ID for both templates is the same.
As soon as you change ID of one of them and come back to this main report form, you will notice that its Is default flag will already be set to true.
You can read more on this topic in our forum post (I just searched for “multiple default templates”).
indeed i made the search you recommended but did not find the hint, that the template ID should be the same. Possibly I am just blind.
it is a pity, that it is not possible to have templates with diffrernt IDs as default for different comanies.
Different IDs would make the maintenance easier.
This is how it should work. If we followed your logic, you’d have to assign a different template ID to each company. While that could work, it would make maintenance harder since you’d need to pick the right template every time.
Instead, we assigned just one template, and it gets resolved automatically based on the company ID. This makes maintenance much easier and more convenient.
