Logo image is not displayed correctly in the report

This problem rarely occurs, but it can happen. It affects Docentric AX templates where you use the logo from the image stored in the D365FO settings for legal entities. When you generate the report, the logo is not displayed as it should, but you get a blurry image instead, for example as in the image below:

The solution is quite simple in most cases. You just need to upload the image again to D365FO by following these steps:

  1. Open Organization administration > Organizations > Legal entities form

  2. Select the legal entity and look for the Report company logo image fast tab

  3. Edit the record and replace the existing logo with a new one that you have uploaded from your logo image file:

After uploading the image, try printing the report again and the logo should now display correctly.

Selecting the ideal logo image size
Please make sure that the uploaded logo is not larger than necessary. Logos are usually not large (up to 2 inches high and 3 inches wide, or about 5 cm x 7.5 cm). Often, marketing teams order professionally created logos in larger formats that are several megabytes in size, and these logos are then used on templates as is, and then only visually reduced to a small portion of their original size. Internally, the entire large logo image is still saved in its original size, making the templates unnecessarily large.

To fix this, use an image editor and reduce the image to the smallest size that still displays well. In this way, you can reduce the internally saved image by a factor of 10 or even more. Save the resized image and upload it to D365FO as described above.
