I am trying to get C2 amounts to align by decimal. The issue is that with C2, negative amounts are in parenthesis, and the parenthesis throws off the right align. I tried to use Word>Paragraph> Tabs> align by decimal which works for hardcoded numbers, but it does not work with docentric variables.

This type of formatting is not easy to achieve. The only option would be to use two table columns, with the first column containing everything except the closing parenthesis in the case of negative numbers. The second column would only contain a closing parenthesis in the case of negative numbers. Both columns would have zero margins and the second column would be as narrow as possible.
To achieve this, you would have to experiment a little.
