Attachment : Document at index 1 is encrypted

Hello,

We deployed Docentric 3.5.1 last week and highlighted the new feature for merging PDF attachments into a single document with the default print destination setup.

Many users are now reporting Docentric errors during invoice posting and printing.

Error while merging PDF documents using the Docentric merge engine.
PDF concatenation failed (engine: Docentric). Document at index 1 is encrypted and cannot be concatenated. Remove encryption and try again. Non-negative number required. Parameter name: value

PDF attachments can come from various sources. Even if the files are not encrypted, it appears that depending on the PDF editor used to generate the file, there are differences that prevent merging.

The system does not notify the user that the format is invalid before the final posting/printing. The invoice can therefore no longer be modified…

Do you have a solution?

Hello @batthebarge,

We apologize for the late reply.

Can you please send us a screenshot of the relevant settings you mentioned so we get a better idea of your scenario and what could be causing this issue?

Thanks!

Hi @DalilaI,

Thank you for your reply.

it’s the new merging attachment feature of 3.5.1 :

Hi @batthebarge,

Based on the error message, the Docentric merge engine detected that one of the PDF attachments cannot be merged.

To investigate this further, we would prefer to continue the communication through our support channel.

Could you please send the attachments pdf files separately to Support@docentric.com, this will allow us to test the files on our side and reproduce the same issue.
