In the previous webinar we demonstrated how to append Terms and Conditions in the customer language to our invoices. In this webinar we are going a step further in perfecting them. You will now learn how to embed product images and product specifications into Sales invoice using Electronic Reporting with Docentric Designer.
The approach we will take here is the same as in the previous webinar: First, we will add additional data – product images and characteristics using Electronic Reporting, by changing the ER Data model and Model mapping provided by Microsoft for the Sales invoice report. Then, when this data appears in the updated data source, we will bind the product images to the table row that is bound to invoice lines on the report template in Docentric Designer. Next, we will append product specifications at the end of the template, using the Subdocument feature.
That’s right, we have managed to make our invoices look professional and appealing without the help of developers. All we needed was the knowledge of how to modify the existing Electronic Reporting Data model and mapping, and this is where we put most of our effort. Undoubtedly, the much easier part was updating the template due to the ease of use of Docentric Designer.
This webinar proves that Electronic Reporting used in combination with Docentric can truly empower functional consultants and end-users to achieve advanced reporting scenarios.
